Christmas Party Activities

There's a lot more to planning your Christmas party than just the food. You're going to need some fun activities to get your guests into the holiday spirit. From crafts to decorations we've got some entertaining activity ideas for planning a joyful Christmas party.

Send Themed Party Invitations

Send out Christmas-themed party invitations with snowmen, Santas, or a Victorian look. Add all of the information your guests will need and include any details for a gift exchange if you're planning one.

Go Christmas Caroling

Caroling is one of the all-time favorite activities for Christmas parties. Print off copies of traditional holiday songs and pass them out. Make some phone calls to nursing homes, senior citizen centers, veteran's homes or homeless shelters to set up an appointment. They often welcome carolers and it will be spread some Christmas cheer. Bundle up and provide coffee and hot chocolate to your guests when you're finished.

Provide Food & Goodies

What is a Christmas party without food and treats? Have plenty of snacks on hand to satisfy hungry guests. Enlist in some help and not only will you have more variety, you will ease your stress level considerably.

Have a Gift Exchange

Everyone loves to exchange gifts at Christmas parties. Set a price limit and advise guests that wish to participate to bring gifts according to the them you set. Generic, decorations, gag gifts etc. all make fun gifts and gives them an idea of what to bring.

Organize a Scavenger Hunt

Scavenger hunts are not only for Halloween and Thanksgiving. Plan a hunt with a Christmas theme. This will get your friends out and about to meet new people. Award prizes to the winning team.

Trim the Tree

Take the opportunity to provide a festive activity and at the same time, getting much-needed help for Christmas decorating. Consider stringing homemade popcorn and using original decorations. It's great fun in the classroom or office too.

Deck the Halls

This works great with family parties. Recruit all family members to help you decorate your house for Christmas. Make a party out of it and have some tasty snacks on hand to reward their assistance.
